Hamburg Firefighter Games (HFFG)

Held in 2019 and 2022 at the Dockland building near the Hamburg fish market.

Right by the water, participants had to complete five demanding disciplines:

• Carry hose pack
• Drag dummy
• Hammer machine
• Deploy B-hoses
• Stair climb (136 steps)

Both events were rounded off with a supporting program and numerous exhibitors.
In 2022, the highlight was the 150th anniversary celebration of the Hamburg Fire Department.

Hamburg Firefighter Stairrun (HFFS)

Held in 2023 at the Radisson Blu Hotel Hamburg Dammtor.

Here too, participants had to show maximum physical performance in full firefighting gear:

• Equip with breathing apparatus
• Hammer machine
• Roll up B-hose
• Climb 512 steps with shouldered hose pack

Respiratory Protection Emergency Competition

Over an entire weekend in May 2025, firefighters from all over Germany dealt with the topic of respiratory protection emergencies.

Three stations presented the participants with special challenges:

• 45 m section of the Mayday Arena (breathing apparatus training course with real emergency obstacles)
• Operational exercise: team member missing in a cluttered basement apartment → forced entry, search for person, establish air supply, carry out rescue
• Hamburg Firefighter Challenge – sporting sequence of operational scenarios as an obstacle course

Toughest Fire Youth

Unique in Germany: first held in 2022, this relay competition has quickly become very popular among young people.

Teams compete against each other at five stations:

• Carry hose pack
• Drag dummy
• Hammer machine
• Deploy C-hoses
• Stair climb
